GOLDEN BEAR WOMEN ROLL PAST MILLERSVILLE

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania issued the following news release:

The Kutztown University women's tennis team downed Millersville 8-1 in a tiffany silver bracelets State Athletic Conference Eastern Division contest on Wednesday afternoon.

The No. 1 doubles team of Rohini Das and Ridhima Borooah were 8-1 winners over Samantha Prager and Kaeley McCabe. Das went on to win her match 6-0, 6-1 at first singles, while Borooah was a 6-4, 6-2 winner at the second singles slot.

Nicole Devine also finished with a perfect 2-0 day, winning at fourth singles by a score of 6-0, 6-0. Devine then paired with Rachel Grula to win the third doubles flight 8-1.

No. 3 singles Sabrina Arnaud breezed through her only match with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Megan Groh dropped her first set (6-1) in the fifth flight, but bounced back with a 6-2 win in the second to force a tiebreaker. In the extra set, Groh took down Shauna Powers by a score of 10-5 to take the win.

Tess Wright was a 7-6, 6-0 winner at the No. 6 singles slot.

The Golden Bears will host East Stroudsburg on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. on the Kutztown Courts.
